Rooftops plantation project

Project Goal:

The project aimed to reduce carbon dioxide emissions from local crafts workshops and other exhausts in Al Darb al Ahmar area. This is through absorbing these gases by planted green spaces on houses’ rooftops in order to improve climate conditions.

Project Objectives:

  • Cleaning houses rooftops to be reused as cultivated roof-gardens. As, planting a square meter of green surface on rooftops will annually remove (100) grams of air pollutants.
  • Increase housewives access to income generation opportunities by selling crops and agricultural products. This enhances the income level of local beneficiaries of the targeted area.
  •  Planting 100 property rooftop in Al Darb al Ahmar area with a total of 600 tables of 1.5 square meters each.
  • Conduct training and awareness session for modern organic farming techniques avoiding usage of chemical fertilizers, introducing the program beneficiaries to benefiting from its crops.
