Project duration: Two years (2021 – 2023)

Key Developmental Issues:

Traditional Crafts Safeguarding, Sustaining Intangible Heritage, Economic Development, Decent Job Creation, innovation, traditional workshops support.

Project Goal:

Supporting the Egyptian artisan product achieving the highest quality levels not only through the institutional framework, but also by enhancing the economic status of unemployed youth through unique handicrafts products and opening marketing channels and sales opportunities by the project team.

Project objectives:

  • Provide training for 60 new trainees from Greater Cairo.
  • Upgrade 15 trainees from the first stage by professional training and mentoring to act as crafts leaders and assistant trainers.
  • Training the target group on mastering the crafts of Khayamiyya, jewelry, and antiques. (Basic crafts training).
  • Training the beneficiaries to produce combined products of multi materials by utilizing several techniques.
  • Networking among civil society institutions and the private sector to assure providing skilled and trained labor matching the needs of the labor market
  • Provide support to 10 craft workshops
  • Follow up the implementation of modern designs in craft workshops
  • Supporting the Egyptian crafts products to achieve the highest quality level through the institutional entity.
  • upgrading the economic and living standard of unemployed youth
  • Establishing the culture the performing craft woks as a career among youth.
  • Empowering a new generation of artisans to teach the arts of traditional crafts through complementary training.
